Did my first in/out window wash today.

So today after a few outside only window wash jobs I had my first complete in/out job. Where do I start? I did the inside first but from now on I’m going to do the outside first. This way I can see what I miss while using trad. methods. I find myself using the pull method on most of the small windows. My hand kept getting in the way of the frame. I used my pole, but find I need more practice with it. I had to break out the ladder to get closer to the window. Oh well. I couldn’t believe how the sun heated up the glass and the issues I had with trying to squeegee the film off. I didn’t want to have all kinds of water on the frame, so my mop was probably too dry. I used the wfp on the outside with great results, but had to break out the Unger pole and scraper. Glad I bought them. The home had many windows. Around 40 of them. Took my 5 hrs total. I guess I did good and passed their test as they want me back in summer and again in fall. I charged them 300 for everything. I’m thinking I can

Indoor Window Cleaning pads

I used the Unger Window Cleaning and Polishing pads to do a skylight from inside last week, and was relatively pleased with the result. I’m wondering if anyone else uses them on indoor residential jobs. If so, when do you use them and what have been the results. Are there any tips for making them more effective? I sprayed some pure water from my WFP on the cleaning pad and used it first, having put it on the end of my Unger extension pole. The pad was black when I finished covering the skylight. I came back a few minutes later and it looked like there were smears all over the skylight. In fairness though, I don’t know when the last time the skylight had been cleaned and it could have accumulated several years of dirt. I also might have used too much water on the pad. I put a light mist on the polishing pad and ran over it again. This pad also came back black, but it appeared to remove the smears from the first run and the window looked pretty good.

Hello WCR

I am new to both the window cleaning world, and this forum. Just wanted to say hi and how helpful the infoemation is on here. Quick question my boss let me use his account to read up on things to help me get up to speed, but there were posts that I can’t find on here. Do I need to change settings? or something else? Thanks Charlie

Question Midrise window cleaning

Hi guys, Does anyone have any tips on how to get insurance for Mid-rise window cleaning. We are a new company and through extensive searching, have only found one insurance company that would cover us. The insurance we currently have is saying we can’t go past 25′. We can’t even get coverage to rent a lift. We both work with lifts up to 45′ on a daily basis with our full time jobs. Thanks, Jason and Dave
